Friends With 5am

Ok, so it's just gone past 6am now (on a Sunday morning) and I'm wide awake. I have spent the last hour in peace and quiet while the kids are still asleep, sipping on a hot cup of tea and browsing the internet. These days, being pregnant, I struggle to stay awake past 9:30 in the evenings, therefore I'm up at the crack of dawn - 5am. I try and lay in bed and go back to sleep but my mind races at a million miles an hour of all the things I should do that day. So up I get. Funnily enough, I find I enjoy the peacefulness this time of morning brings and the quietness before the cubs get up for the day and start running amok ;-)

Yep, that's how I feel in my world at the moment. I feel so out of touch with everything and everyone. I have flashbacks of what my life was like before the bear cubs came along and I just can't relate anymore.

I've lost track of a few good friends. Not from lack of trying, just because our lives are so different now.

I'm wearing the same clothes as I was 3-5 years ago because anything new I do buy is just to tide me over until I lose the baby weight and can be stylish. Never mind the fact, that there is really nothing stopping me from being stylish now, I just have no idea what will look good and suit me!

I feel out of touch with life's fun stuff in general. I see friends on Facebook going out for dinners and movies and parties and I wonder where is my fun stuff?

I'm not sure of the things I like because all my "leisure" activities relate to the kids - taking them swimming lessons, to playgroup, to kindy. All where other mums congregate and talk about their kids. I'm a bit over hearing about who's kid did what and who's now toilet trained, not sleeping, sleeping through the night, eating their vegetables.

Sometimes, I just wanna have a moment alone with The Bear and talk about stuff that's not kid related. I want some proper adult conversation that doesn't revolve around kids.

Sometimes, I just wanna talk about other stuff. But what? My life is so involved with my beautiful family, I feel disconnected from the outside world. What on earth did I do before kids?

Morning Sickness

Dear Morning Sickness,

Please go away. I have things to do and having my tummy constantly churning is not helping.

That is all.

Long time, no blog! Hello strangers, you've all probably given up reading this blog! I have done a teeny bit more blogging on my fitness blog, but thought it was about time I popped back in here to share some exciting news!

There is going to be a third little bear in our home next year! Yay! (and also a little bit OMG, how will I manage?!). We are very excited.

In other news, we sold our house yesterday. First home open and the offer was above our asking price. We are very happy with that considering the market sucks at the moment. It's a long settlement which will give us time to find somewhere new.

Just as things were settling down in our little bear life, we now must get ready for lots of change and exciting times ahead! I can never sit still, always like to be busy!

Summer Dayz

Summer Dayz

Danimezza's theme for this weeks Polly Dolly is Beach Babes! I'm not really a frequent beach goer, but this is what I'd wear if I was. I'm not a fan of the gossipy girly mags, so I'd be reading a book. Harry Potter was the only one I could find an image of! Of course, I'd be eating ice cream too and I'm quite fair so need the 30+ sunscreen and the wide brimmed hat. I like the thongs (flip flops for our American friends), they're cute!

Kicking Off The New Year With A Birthday

Little baby girl cub's first birthday was on New Year's Day. What a fantastic way to start the year with my little princess turning 1 on the 1/1/11! I spent New Year's Eve baking her a cake which resulted in this...

The blocks turned out a bit wobbly and more rectangle than I liked, but hey, maybe they are "soft" baby blocks! It was really tricky putting the icing and sprinkles on! Even so, I'm quite pleased with how it turned out. The actual cake was a madeira cake and turned out quite yummy!

We celebrated with a BBQ with our families and friends. Everyone survived the heat (36 degrees summer day!) and we had a great time. I hope everyone else did too.

Almost walking...

Attempting to blow out the candle.

Gifts from our generous and lovely family and friends.

Cards with beautiful messages.

The snow dome carousel we gave her.

She adores the snow dome. Her eyes light up when she sees it. It also plays a pretty tune where she wiggles as if she's dancing.

Happy New Year Everyone!
